The Japanese macaque is native to Japan and is often referred to as the snow monkey.  They love the cold weather and make snowballs just for fun!!  While they are not on the endangered species list currently, they are being threatened by habitat loss and agricultural pests.  This piece highlights their unique appearance and full head of hair.  It is an original J.C.Pierstorff acrylic painting, 20" x 16" on 2" deep canvas and is wired and ready to hang.
